Taxation

Politicians hammer us (the right is especially prone to this) with the notion that we are taxed and regulated to death. They realize the American voter, by and large, is ignorant of what goes on elsewhere. Look at a tax bill in the United Kingdom or Germany or Denmark. Try to get a license or permit in France or Italy. Consider that the crisis in Greece is due to the massive under-reporting, with impunity, of income and the huge overpaid, inefficient bureaucracy.
